Shipwrecked alone on an uncharted island, explore, adapt and navigate the land and perilous seas to stay alive.Īs Kara, you are a warrior, caught at sea in a fierce storm, adrift from your tribe. If I played longer it may have leveled out but that didn't feel good to me as a player. The Forbidden Islands are Calling, Unlock their Secrets Which I didn't and went to the third archipelago it moves onto wood planks for the next style. The second archipelago provides the bamboo material and a way to build a two pontoon boat but just not enough if you only spend a few in game cycles. Each archipelago also provides a new resource to build a boat with but never enough to fully upgrade it unless you just lingered there. I didn't list this as a con as I don't think its a negative more a design over site. I personally never could get a parry to work so that might highly alter the experience for someone else. By the third archipelago, with no meaningful buffs to health or ways to have additional protection, it was a mood killer. Sailing into the wind can be frustrating when in kills all momentum if you get a angle slightly wrong.Ĭombat was the real killer for me. Range does not have a lock on mechanic when enemies are close to the player and dodge seems inconsistent and only backwards in range The player cannot dodge outside of being locked onto a target. Enemies can get multiple hit combos in that will lock you out. Pelting enemies at range feels accurate and fun with the bow. The isolated chapters are stylized in a way that make them fun to explore and are enjoyable to look at. The item progression starts simple and gets complex slowly in that feels good The sailing feels good and is mostly a fun experience once you get the sail Giving a pro-con for easier viewing with a little more detail afterwards. If you can overlook these frustrations it may be a great game for you. I really like the concept of this game and wanted to continue exploring the isolated archipelagos but found myself constantly getting frustrated with various mechanics.
